World Of UpDo’s – Manchester Malmaison

The World Of UpDo’s tour kicked off with a workshop in Manchester Malmaison hotel and we had such a fun day creating! 

During the morning session, Shelley demononstrated the tips and techniques needed to create incredible updo’s for Brides to be and  anyone attending a special occasion. All students then got a chance to play and either re-create Shelley’s looks or come up with their own styles. 

All of Shelley’s Workshops are designed for small groups. This means that every student gets lots of individual attention to master the skills they want to improve. 

For the afternoon session, the student stylists got an opportunity to push their creative boundaries and learn the techniques Shelley has used throughout her Avant Garde work. Shelley demonstrated three different types of braiding, to create intricate styles perfect for editorial shoots. The intention was to show students that they can draw inspiration from anywhere, that every texture, shape or pattern we see can be translated into hair art.
