As her trademark pink hair and her beaming smile radiated around London’s spectacular Royal Albert Hall, family, friends and colleagues looked down contemplating just how much Shelley Pengilly has achieved in the past 3 years.
When Shelley took to the stage with her incredible model who was adorned with stunning flowers and the most insanely beautiful, ethereal Avant Garde hairstyle, there was gasp as if suddenly the audience had lost a breath. On Sunday evening, Shelley competed in the grand final of the International Visionary Awards at the 35th Alternative Hair Show, she was one of only 3 UK Avant Garde finalists who were up against Avant Garde Hairdressers from around the world.
Shelley created the look using her beloved milk_shake colours and styling products and Rapture Hair Extensions.
On the night she said ‘to become a finalist in such a magnificent global competition would have beyond my wildest dreams 3 or 4 years ago. This is the second year consecutive year that i have been a finalist and I have loved every second.’ With a huge smile, Shelley continues ‘My passion is Avant Garde hair and this entry was the perfect excuse to get creative. This year, my competition was on another level, the hair was out of this world and I was honoured to be shortlisted amongst this team of hairdressing talent. An amazing experience and I can’t wait for 2018.’
Shelley’s next stop will be at the Grand Finals of The British Hairdressing Awards at The Grosvenor Hotel in London. The BHA’s are one of the most important dates in the British hairdressing calendar and celebrate the best of British Hairdressing. Shelley has been shortlisted to the finals of the Avant-Garde category and will travel to London with her team to attend the event on 27th November.
Shelley would like to thank her milk_shake team, Eva Proudman of Rapture Hair, Kelly Summerfield, her sensational model Ryo and the organisers of The Alternative Hair Show and The International Visionary Awards for their continuous support and commitment.
